The Museum of the Moon Dubai is back, and if you have been looking for a proper Eid plan that the whole family actually wants to do, OliOli® just answered that. The much-loved lunar installation returns to Dubai’s award-winning children’s play museum in Al Quoz from May 15 to May 31, 2026, and it is included with all general admission tickets. Opening day falls on May 15, the United Nations International Day of Families, which makes it one of the most fitting ways to kick off the Eid holiday. Spots are limited and the window is short, so this one is worth booking now.
What Is the Museum of the Moon?
The Museum of the Moon is a large-scale travelling exhibition by world-renowned British artist Luke Jerram. The centrepiece is a five-metre illuminated replica of the lunar surface, crafted using detailed imagery provided by NASA. Up close, you can make out actual craters and ridges of the moon’s surface at a level of detail that is genuinely hard to find anywhere outside of a space facility.
The exhibition has toured more than 30 countries, with stops in England, Latvia, India, Belgium, and Australia, among others. It has been one of OliOli’s most celebrated seasonal experiences every time it has come back to Dubai, and the 2026 edition gives it even more reason to visit.
The Experience Waiting for You at OliOli
OliOli® describes this as a serene space where families can pause and marvel at the beauty of the moon up close. That is exactly the vibe. Calm, immersive, and genuinely unlike the usual holiday outing. It is the kind of experience where you actually want to slow down and take it all in.
This year’s edition at OliOli also features a curated display of photographs from NASA’s Artemis II mission. On April 1, 2026, astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen launched on a 10-day journey around the moon aboard NASA’s Orion spacecraft, the first crewed lunar flyby since Apollo 17 in 1972, more than 50 years ago. Those historic mission images are now part of what families get to experience right here in Dubai, right underneath Jerram’s five-metre moon.
For younger visitors, interactive light boxes filled with sand let kids draw, create patterns, and play freely under the glow of the installation. Parents get their own cosy najlis seating area to settle into while the little ones do what they do best.

Why This Fills Up Fast Every Single Year
OliOli has held the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice award for six consecutive years, from 2019 to 2025. The museum has more than 40 hands-on exhibits in its interactive galleries, so there is a full day of things to do on top of the moon installation itself. After spending time under the lunar glow, little ones can head straight into OliOli’s other galleries and keep the momentum going.
The Museum of the Moon is included with standard admission, meaning there is no added cost to see it. But availability is listed as limited, and the experience ends May 31. With Eid giving families a proper stretch of holiday time, this is the kind of thing that gets fully booked well before its final days. Early booking is not just a suggestion here.
Do Not Let This One Pass You By
Luke Jerram’s five-metre illuminated moon, NASA Artemis II mission photography from history’s first crewed lunar flyby in 50 years, hands-on sand light boxes for kids, a najlis corner for parents, and all of it wrapped inside one of Dubai’s most awarded family venues. The Museum of the Moon at OliOli is here from May 15 to May 31, and it will not be here again until next year.
