Dubai’s biggest AI push just got official. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, has launched a landmark initiative to shift Dubai’s private sector toward Agentic AI, the kind of artificial intelligence that acts, decides, and executes tasks with minimal human input. The announcement follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
“Our goal is for Dubai to become the world’s leading city in adopting these technologies economically and commercially, giving us a new competitive edge for the future,” Sheikh Hamdan said.
What Is Dubai Agentic AI and Why Does It Matter
Agentic AI, officially described as self-executing and self-leading artificial intelligence, handles workflows independently, makes decisions, and completes tasks with little to no human input required. Dubai is now placing this technology at the center of how its private sector will function.
This initiative did not come in isolation. It follows Sheikh Mohammed’s announcement of a UAE government framework to transition 50 per cent of government sectors and services to Agentic AI within two years.
“Our government will be the first government in the world to largely deploy Agentic AI models,” Sheikh Mohammed said at the time.
